How to get there
With Toms Bakery on your left, turn left then take next right into Cleveland Road. Take the small lane on the left immdiately before the tall Regency Heights Building. Vermilion is on the right hand side.

Profile
Vermillion House is basically three separate initiatives in one, antiques and artefacts, framing and heritage designer clothing:
There is an eclectic range of antiques and artefacts, copper, brass, procelain and wood. Tanjore paintings, lithograph and maps. Colonial furniture in teakwood, rosewood and mahogany.
Framing is a real speciality at Vermilion House, where you can share your ideas on custom framing with real profesionals who will work on your artistic suggestions, adding an aesthetic touch if needed.
Designer 'heritage' clothing almost completes the picture, the traditional craft of embroidery is recognised as a true art form at VH you will not be disappointed.

Recommendation
Forget the conventional show room. Vermilion House is probably one of a kind in Bangalore; to start with its like walking into your best friends home, you are immediately comfortable in the surroundings! You are not pestered by sales people, you can just browse and then browse a little more and notice things you didn't see the first time round. There's even a small book stand.
I'm not going to talk about the antiques or the framing and definitely not the embroidery, that's for you to discover but what I want you to know is that there is a quiet elegance about the place which cannot be pinpointed. It's calm and serene and when you find out its a regular meeting place for book readings, you can understand completely. Don't be surprised if you are invited for a cup of tea! who would have believed shopping could be so 'charming'!
