Situated in a small courtyard, the rogue elephant partnership
brings together more than 30 years experience in the
international hospitality industry. The menu like its
location is compact and described as ‘world cuisine’
with a homely touch.

Recommendation
Several recommendations have come in for Rogue Elephant
-artists, restaurantuers; ‘ladies who do lunch’ all
rate this place highly for a quiet and calm place to
have lunch. Anand the partner describes the food as
‘comfort food’ and is on hand to make a suggestion if
you cannot make up your mind! The menu really is quite
small but at Rogue Elephant the emphasis is on quality,
why offer 100 dishes, which are ok when all you need
to do is perfect just a few.
Its unfortunate they close at 5.00pm as it means those
who work, probably wont get the chance to try the food,
but there is an option. Rogue Elephant will cater for
private parties and offer a completely bespoke service.
Numbers, cuisine, location, nothing seemed to worry
Anand but he did say they specialise in Indian cuisines
to the west of India so your Thai is out.

P.S: You can’t book so you need to come early to get
a table!

Comment:
I'm hard to please, some might say snooty, and I never
forgive a restaurant that pays little or no attention
to decor and ambience. But when it comes to the charming
little Rogue Elephant i'm happy to throw the rulebook
right out of the window. I mean, who cares about decor
when you can have a home cooked meal prepared with a
lot of love and care? It's like visiting a favorite
aunt who pampers you, complains that you are too skinny,
loads your plate with endless helpings of everything
delicious and then packs you a little snack for the
ride back home...
I love going back there because their hummus is made
just the way i like it and so is their carrot cake and
banana bread (Anand tells me i should have it with "lashings
of butter"). Anand makes even the ordinary sound
so very exotic with the way he describes each dish in
detail and he can make you savor the sweet peach pannacotta,
herb roasted chicken and the seer fish medallions "in
a mildly spicy Putanesca sauce" even before you
take a bite!
