How to get there
Head down Dickenson Road with the Manipal Centre on your left, after passing through the traffic lights, drive past the Manipal exit and you will see a large building on your left with large Jewellers on the ground floor. Turn left into the car park and drive to the left, you will see ‘Valet Parking for ‘Caperberry’ on your right.

One of India’s finest Chefs, Abhijit Saha has recently launched his premium Signature Restaurant and Tapas Lounge – Caperberry in Bangalore. Combining his innate passion for detail with a deep understanding of service, it has been his endeavour to create a fine dining destination that is more than just a culinary experience.

Caperberry is a unit of Avant Garde Hospitality Private Limited - a young and dynamic company incorporated in Bangalore by Abhijit Saha and Shruti Shibulal with interests in the Restaurant Business, Food & Beverage Consulting, and Premium Catering under the brand name of Bespoke Catering by Chef Abhijit Saha.

Restaurant:
Located in the heart of downtown Bangalore, Caperberry is a destination with many different dimensions. The sophisticated design and ambience, tasteful music, menus reflecting creativity, innovation and passion, complemented by impeccable service and warm hospitality blend together to create a delightful sensory journey. Caperberry showcases a unique view of Avant Garde European and Spanish Cuisine where the pursuit for perfection is aided by the integration of culinary arts with culinary science and culinary artistry. This approach allows the Caperberry team to use a judicious mix of traditional and modern scientific cooking techniques and equipments with conventional and new age ingredients.

Tapas Lounge:
The intimate Spanish-influenced Tapas lounge is infused with some of the finest lounge music. It sets the mood for a relaxed, enjoyable evening over fine eclectic cocktails, single malts, wines and much more. Interactive personalized service makes the Caperberry lounge an ideal space for business meetings but also a great place to hang out with friends. The Tapas Menu brings forth authentic Spanish flavours. Sangrias and sherry cocktails accompanied by delectable short eats made from fresh and artisan Spanish ingredients set the tone for a perfectly chilled evening.

Menus:
During lunch hours, Caperberry serves the Chef’s Select Menu. This allows even the most time-tight business lunches to be a quality culinary experience. The menu changes each day with a selection of 8 to 10 entrées to choose from on the table, as well as a wide selection of starters, salads, and deserts on display.

The À La Carte dinner menu at Caperberry was created to delight every palate. Surprising combinations, inspired interpretations, and cutting-edge originality define the menu while inspiring you to discover fresh delight every time. Indian and International wines can be selected from the extensive Wine List as perfect accompaniments for any meal.

The Tasting Menus offered during dinner have been specially designed to allow customers to experience all the different textures and flavours that make Caperberry special. Tasting Menus come with the option of being paired with recommended wines.

Timings & Reservation:
Reservations may be made for the Restaurant and Tapas lounge at Caperberry between 11am and 10pm daily. Walk-in guests are welcome during all working hours.

Chef’s Select Lunch: 12.30 pm to 3.00 pm

Dinner (À La Carte and Tasting Menus): 7:30 to 11:30 pm

Tapas Lounge: 5.30 pm to 11.30 pm

Buddy Advantage: Complentary dessert in the evening, 10% off on lunch, 5% off on Sunday Brunch (Valid till 31st December 2009)

Recommendation
I was not sure what to expect with Caperberry, with Abhijit’s reputation. I took it for granted that the food would be exceptional, but could Abhijit bring anything different to the ‘table’ (apologies for the pun) in terms of the dining experience? The answer is ye., The restaurant is quietly understated, the style contemporary, a little minimalist with a few touches to make it a little more comfortable.
The food is superb. I do not need to say anything else.
